“What I love about the 911 is that Porsche has never lost sight of what makes it special. The shape, rear-engine layout and flat-six engine have been at the heart of the car for over 60 years. The cars have evolved enormously, but the basic recipe remains the same.
On paper, putting the engine at the back shouldn’t work quite so well, but decades of development have made the 911 one of the most rewarding sports cars to drive. I think that’s a big part of why they remain so desirable and hold their value so well.
My advice is always to buy the right car rather than simply the newest or lowest-mileage example. Every generation has its own character, so take your time and find the one that suits you. Get that right, and a used 911 is a hugely rewarding car to own.”
