“The BMW X3 M makes you question whether you really need a supercar. You’ve got room for the family, space for the shopping and over 500bhp from BMW’s S58 twin-turbo straight-six. With M xDrive sending power to all four wheels, 0–60mph takes a little over three seconds. Watching a family SUV launch itself down the road like that is completely bonkers — and exactly why I love it.
If I were choosing one, I’d go for Marina Bay Blue with Silverstone leather, just like the car pictured. It’s a brilliant combination that gives the X3 M real presence without shouting about what it is. A proper performance car hiding in a family SUV.
My advice when buying a used X3 M is to find one that’s been enjoyed on the road rather than pushed hard on track. These are incredibly capable machines, but a pristine appearance doesn’t tell the whole story. I want to understand how a car has been driven and maintained. For me, the right history matters far more than a shiny finish.”
