“The Vantage has always been the sweet spot in the Aston Martin range for me. It’s compact, nimble and properly sporty, with a great sense of balance. There’s more than enough performance to embarrass cars costing twice as much on a good B-road.

My choice would be a later V8 Vantage with the Sport Plus Pack. I love driving, so I’d want the sharper, more focused feel. Ideally, I’d have it in Elwood Blue, one of Aston Martin’s special Q colours, which looks incredible in the sunshine.

My biggest piece of advice when buying any Vantage is to find someone you trust who really knows these cars. There are details that simply aren't obvious on a viewing, and knowing where to look takes experience. Buying privately without that specialist knowledge can be a brave move.”
